Manhwa to EPUB

Manhwa is Korean, and unlike Japanese manga it reads left to right, the same direction as a western book. That matters when converting: run manhwa through a tool tuned for manga and you can end up with right-to-left page turns stamped into the file, so every chapter reads backwards. Here left-to-right is the default and manga mode simply stays off.

The other manhwa quirk is shape. Print-style volumes come as normal pages, but a lot of manhwa is published webtoon-style: one continuous vertical strip per chapter, thousands of pixels tall. MangaConverter detects those strips and slices them into screen-sized pages at panel gaps, then packs everything into an EPUB your e-reader pages through normally.

How to convert manhwa to EPUB

  1. Add your manhwa chapters

Drop CBZ, CBR, ZIP, RAR, 7Z or PDF files, up to 20 at a time. Both paged volumes and tall vertical-strip chapters are handled; everything is unpacked right in the browser.

  2. Keep manga mode off

Leave the reading-direction setting alone: left-to-right is the default and it is what manhwa needs. Manga mode is only for right-to-left Japanese titles.

  3. Preview the page slicing

If your chapters are vertical strips, the live preview shows exactly where each strip gets cut into pages, so you can confirm no panel is split before converting anything.

  4. Convert and load onto your reader

Download the finished EPUB and copy it to your Kindle, Kobo or reading app. Outputs auto-delete after 24 hours.

Left-to-right is not optional detail

Reading direction is written into the EPUB itself. Get it wrong and your reader turns pages in the wrong direction for the whole book, with speech bubbles read out of order. Manhwa converted here always comes out left-to-right unless you deliberately switch it.

Pick a device profile for sharper pages

Plain EPUB works everywhere, but choosing your exact reader resizes pages to its true resolution: 1072 x 1448 on a Kindle 11 or Kobo Clara HD, 1236 x 1648 on a Kindle Paperwhite 5, 1404 x 1872 on a Kobo Elipsa.

Frequently asked questions

Does manhwa need manga mode?

No, and turning it on is the classic mistake. Manga mode stamps right-to-left page progression into the output, which is correct for Japanese manga but backwards for Korean manhwa. Leave it off and page turns follow the natural left-to-right order.

My manhwa chapters are single tall images. What happens to them?

They get sliced. Each tall strip is cut into e-reader-height pages at gaps between panels, so the chapter reads as a normal paged book instead of one image no screen can display.

What is the difference between this and the webtoon converter?

The same slicing engine runs underneath. This page is tuned for manhwa specifically, including print-style volumes that are already paged and need no slicing at all, just resizing and e-ink cleanup.

Which devices can read the resulting EPUB?

Any modern e-reader. Kindle accepts EPUB via Send to Kindle, Kobo reads it natively (or take KEPUB for reading stats and a faster comic renderer), and reMarkable and reading apps open it directly.

Conversion runs on Kindle Comic Converter (KCC), the open-source engine behind years of community comic conversions, hosted for you so nothing needs installing. The full service is also self-hostable as kcc-cloud on GitHub.
