CBR to MOBI Converter

A CBR is a RAR archive full of page images, and MOBI is the format older Kindles actually read, so the conversion is really two problems at once: unpack a proprietary RAR without mangling the page order, then build a MOBI whose pages fill a Kindle screen instead of floating in the middle of it. Generic converters get the first part wrong (page 10 before page 2) and skip the second entirely.

MangaConverter unpacks the CBR, keeps every page in archive order, and produces a MOBI sized for a real Kindle profile, so panels stay sharp and the file opens like a book rather than a folder of loose images.

How it works

  1. Drop your CBR file The RAR is unpacked in your browser and its pages are read in order. Password-protected or solid RARs that other tools choke on are handled here.
  2. Pick a Kindle profile MOBI needs a device size to look right, so choose your Kindle (Paperwhite, Oasis, basic, Scribe) and pages are resized to that exact screen.
  3. Preview before you commit The studio renders the processed pages, check the reading order and contrast, and adjust borders or splitting live.
  4. Convert and download Download the MOBI and side-load it, or note that newer Kindles prefer EPUB via Send-to-Kindle, in which case pick the EPUB preset instead. Files auto-delete after 24 hours.

Why MOBI needs a device, and EPUB does not

Plain EPUB can keep the original page dimensions, but MOBI is a Kindle-only format and looks right only when the pages match a Kindle screen. That is why this converter asks you to choose a Kindle model for MOBI: the pages are resized and contrast-tuned for that specific display.

Reading MOBI on a modern Kindle

Amazon is phasing MOBI out in favor of EPUB through Send-to-Kindle. If your Kindle is recent, converting CBR to EPUB and sending that is smoother than side-loading MOBI. Older Kindles still take MOBI directly.

Conversion runs on Kindle Comic Converter (KCC), the open-source engine comic readers have trusted for a decade, hosted for you, so there is no Python and nothing to install.

Frequently asked questions

My CBR came out with pages in the wrong order elsewhere. Will that happen here?

No. Pages are read in the archive’s own order, not by guessing from filenames, which is where naive RAR extractors go wrong on comics numbered 1, 10, 2.

Should I pick MOBI or EPUB for my Kindle?

If your Kindle is from the last few years, EPUB via Send-to-Kindle is the better path. Pick MOBI when you have an older Kindle that side-loads MOBI directly.

Does converting to MOBI lose image quality?

No. Images are resized to the Kindle screen and gamma-corrected for e-ink, not just re-wrapped, so pages look sharper on the device, not worse.

Can I convert several CBR files at once?

Yes. Drop multiple archives and they queue and convert in sequence, each into its own MOBI.
