Watercolour and painted graphic novel art relies on tonal range that a raw greyscale squash destroys. Tuning the contrast curve for e-ink preserves the separation between figures and background, which is the difference between moody and muddy.

Will small lettering actually be readable?
That is the point of per-device rebuilding: pages are sized to your exact screen so no resolution is wasted, and contrast tuning keeps thin letterforms crisp on e-ink. The preview lets you verify on the densest page before converting.
What happens to double-page spreads?
You choose: split them into two sequential pages, or rotate them so the full spread fills the screen sideways. The preview shows both treatments so you can pick per book.
Can I convert a whole series or omnibus?
Yes. Batches take up to 20 files at 1GB and 1000 pages each, which covers most omnibus editions, and each input becomes its own properly sized book.
Which output format for which reader?
EPUB for Kindle (Send to Kindle accepts EPUB since MOBI was dropped in 2022), KEPUB for Kobo to get reading stats and the faster comic renderer, MOBI only for very old Kindles, or CBZ to keep an archive.
