On paper the reMarkable is a superb manga reader: a large 1404 x 1872 greyscale e-ink screen with room for full pages at real size. In practice it never sees your library, because the device only accepts EPUB and PDF while scanlations and rips ship as CBZ or CBR archives it cannot open.

Is a greyscale screen a problem for manga?
The opposite: manga is drawn in black and white, so the reMarkable's greyscale e-ink is a natural fit. The conversion tunes tones for e-ink so screentones and linework stay clean.
