Manhua sits in an awkward spot for e-readers: Chinese comics are almost always full colour, most modern titles read left-to-right while traditional releases keep the right-to-left page turn, and digital chapters arrive as anything from tidy CBZ volumes to webtoon-length vertical strips. Generic converters flatten all of that into one wrong guess.

Colour is the manhua-specific problem
Manga is drawn for black and white, so it survives e-ink almost by accident. Manhua is painted in colour, and colour dropped naively onto a greyscale screen loses the contrast that separates figures from backgrounds. Per-device tuning is what keeps those pages readable.
One volume, sized per screen
The same volume converts differently for different targets: 1072 x 1448 for a basic Kindle, larger for a Kobo Elipsa, colour preserved for a colour reader. Converting per device instead of exporting one generic file is why the output looks native everywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Which way does manhua read, and what should I set?
Most modern manhua reads left-to-right, so the default is right for the bulk of titles. Traditional-style releases read right-to-left; flip on manga mode for those and the page turn follows.
How does full-colour art look on a greyscale Kindle?
Better than a naive conversion: pages are contrast-tuned so colour shading becomes distinct grey levels rather than a muddy wash. On a Kindle Colorsoft or Kobo colour model the colour is kept as-is.
My chapters are long vertical strips. Supported?
Yes. Webtoon-style manhua strips are sliced into e-reader-height pages at the gaps between panels, and the live preview lets you check every cut before converting.
How do I get the result onto my device?
USB copy always works. Kindle owners can email via Send to Kindle, which takes EPUB (MOBI was dropped in 2022) and caps attachments around 50MB, so bigger volumes go over USB.
