Old or low-resolution manga scans look soft on a sharp modern e-reader: the linework is fuzzy and screentone turns to mush. AI upscaling is a planned feature that will rebuild detail a plain resize cannot, reconstructing crisp edges and clean tone rather than just stretching the pixels. We are being straight with you: it is not live yet, so this page does not offer it.
What we will not do is dress up ordinary resizing as AI. The converter already includes a standard upscale that enlarges pages, but that is not the same as learned reconstruction, and we will not label it that way. Can I upscale my manga with AI here right now?
Not yet, and we will not pretend otherwise. AI upscaling is planned, not shipped. This page ranks for the query and describes the feature honestly, but there is no working AI upscale button on it today.
Does the converter not already have an upscale option?
It has a standard resize upscale that enlarges pages, which is useful, but it is ordinary scaling, not learned reconstruction. Calling that AI would be dishonest, so we keep the two clearly separate.
What can I do about a low-res scan in the meantime?
Convert with a device profile so pages are sized to your screen, and turn on contrast correction and cropping, which make a soft scan read as well as it can. A better source scan still beats any post-processing.
Will you announce when it is ready?
