Frequently asked questions
How does it know where the margin is?
It detects the solid border around the artwork on each page and trims to the edge of the drawing. Because it works page by page, an uneven scan where some pages have wider borders than others still crops correctly.
Will it cut off part of the art?
The cropping strength controls how aggressively it trims. This page presets a moderate strength that removes the border without biting into the panels. If a scan is tight, dial the strength down before converting.
Does it remove page numbers?
The preset detects margins plus the page numbers that sit in them, so those are trimmed along with the border. You can switch to margins only if you would rather keep the numbers.
Is cropping worth it on a large screen?
It helps most on small e-readers where every wasted millimetre counts. On a large Scribe the gain is smaller, but trimming a heavy border still makes the art read bigger.
