Kindle Comic Converter for Android: run KCC in Chrome, no app

Kindle Comic Converter (KCC) is a desktop program for Windows, macOS and Linux, and there is no official KCC app for Android. If you searched for one, the practical answer is not an APK: MangaConverter runs the real open-source KCC engine on its own servers, and your phone only needs Chrome, Firefox, Samsung Internet or any other browser to drive it.

The conversion itself does not happen on the phone. You upload a CBZ, CBR, ZIP, RAR, 7Z, PDF or EPUB, pick the Kindle profile, check the live page preview, and the servers do the page processing. That is why a mid-range Android handset converts a full volume as fast as a desktop does: nothing heavy runs on the device, so battery, storage and CPU are not part of the equation.

We credit KCC openly because it is the engine. If you also own a computer and want the desktop workflow, the official app lives on the KCC GitHub project and is linked at the bottom of this page. This page exists for the moment you only have the phone in your hand.

How to use Kindle Comic Converter on an Android phone

  1. Open the converter in your browser

Chrome, Firefox, Samsung Internet, any of them. There is no app to install, no Play Store listing to find and nothing to grant permissions to. The page is the tool.

  2. Pick your file from the Files app

Tap the upload area and Android opens its file picker: choose the comic from Downloads, from the Files app, from a cloud drive that shows up there, or straight from the folder your reader app keeps it in. Up to 20 files per batch, 1GB and up to 1000 pages each.

  3. Choose your Kindle and check the preview

Pick your exact Kindle model from the same profile list the desktop app has, turn on manga mode for right-to-left titles, and the live preview renders the converted pages in the browser before you commit.

  4. Download and send to your Kindle

The finished EPUB lands in your Downloads folder. Share it to the Send to Kindle app, upload it through the Send to Kindle website, or email it to your Kindle address. Files on our side auto-delete after 24 hours.

Where the real desktop app lives

KCC is a free open-source project. If you also have a Windows, macOS or Linux machine and want the offline workflow, download it from the official KCC GitHub repository. MangaConverter is an independent hosted frontend for the same engine, not a replacement for the project.

Why the browser version runs where the app cannot

The desktop app needs Python and its own dependencies on the machine it runs on, which is why it has no Android build. The browser version moved that whole environment to the server, so any device that can open a web page and upload a file can use it: Android phones and tablets, Chromebooks, iPhones, and locked-down work machines.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Kindle Comic Converter APK for Android?

No. KCC is a desktop application and the project does not publish an Android build. Anything calling itself a KCC APK is not from the KCC project. You do not need one: the browser version on this page is the same engine, run server-side, and it works in any Android browser.

Is this really KCC, or a clone?

It is the real, unmodified KCC engine (open source, by Ciromattia and the KCC contributors) executed on our infrastructure. We say so openly. The output is the same kind of file the desktop app gives you.

Does the phone do the conversion?

No, and that is the point. The phone uploads the file and shows the preview; the page processing runs on our servers. A phone with little free storage and a modest processor converts a 500-page volume exactly as fast as a desktop would.

What are the limits on a phone?

The same as on a computer: up to 20 files per batch, up to 1GB per file and up to 1000 pages per file on the free tier. The practical limit is your connection, since a 1GB upload over mobile data takes a while and costs data; on Wi-Fi it is a non-issue.

How do I get the converted file onto my Kindle from an Android phone?

Convert to EPUB with your Kindle profile, then use the Send to Kindle app for Android, the Send to Kindle website in your browser, or email the file to your Kindle address. Email delivery rejects files over about 50MB, so for a long volume use the app or website instead, or copy it over USB from a computer later.

Does it cost anything?

The free tier covers several conversions per month. Heavy users can upgrade, which is what pays for the servers the conversions run on.

Can I convert a whole series from my phone?

Yes. Up to 20 files queue in one batch and convert in sequence with the same profile and settings, so a short run goes through in one pass. For a very long series, a computer on Wi-Fi is simply the more comfortable place to babysit a long upload.

MangaConverter is powered by the genuine Kindle Comic Converter (KCC) engine, kept up to date with upstream. Honest by design: we name the engine, respect its license, and add the hosting, preview and queueing around it so it runs on a phone.
