Turn page images into a CBZ volume

A chapter often arrives as a folder of loose page images rather than a finished comic file. The planned images-to-CBZ tool will take that folder, sort the pages into reading order, and pack them into a clean CBZ volume ready for conversion or any comic reader. We are being straight with you: it is not live yet, so this page does not offer it.

Today the workaround is the one readers already use: zip the folder yourself and rename it, or upload the zip directly, because the converter reads plain ZIP archives exactly like CBZ. When the dedicated tool ships, the hand-zipping step disappears and this page becomes the place to run it.

What the images-to-CBZ tool will do

  1. Drop a folder of page images

    JPG, PNG or WebP pages, one chapter or many. The tool will read them in and detect the page order from the filenames.

  2. Sort and check the order

    Natural sorting will handle the usual 1, 2, 10 filename trap, and a thumbnail strip will let you spot a stray page before packing.

  3. Pack a clean CBZ

    One volume per folder, with sensible naming, ready for a comic reader or for conversion to your e-reader in the same flow.

  4. Until then: zip works today

    The converter already accepts ZIP archives as comic input, so zipping the folder yourself gets the same pages onto your device right now.

We would rather rank for this query with a truthful coming-soon page than ship a button that quietly just zips a folder and calls it a day. The tool arrives here when the sorting and checking actually work.

Can I turn images into a CBZ here right now?

Not with a dedicated tool yet, and we will not pretend otherwise. What works today: zip the image folder and upload the zip, the converter treats it like a CBZ and builds a file for your e-reader.

Is a CBZ not just a renamed ZIP anyway?

Essentially yes, a CBZ is a ZIP of page images with a different extension. The planned tool adds the parts a plain zip does not: reading-order checks, natural sorting and clean per-volume packaging.

Will it handle many chapters at once?

That is the plan: one folder per chapter in, one clean volume per folder out, so a whole series stops being an evening of hand-zipping.

Will you announce when it is ready?

Yes. When the tool ships it goes live on this page and the tools hub links to it. You can vote for it on the roadmap in the meantime.

MangaConverter runs on Kindle Comic Converter (KCC), the open-source engine, for the conversions that are live today. The images-to-CBZ packer is a planned addition in front of that pipeline, and this page will host it honestly once it works.
