Frequently asked questions
What is a double-page spread?
A single piece of art drawn across two facing pages of a book. In a comic archive it is stored as one wide image, roughly twice as wide as it is tall. On a phone-sized e-ink screen that wide image is squeezed down until the detail vanishes.
Split, rotate or both?
Splitting cuts each spread into two portrait pages you read in sequence, best for keeping detail. Rotating turns the spread sideways so it fills the screen in landscape, best when you want to see the whole composition at once. This page presets split, and you can change it before converting.
Will it split ordinary single pages too?
No. Only images wide enough to be a genuine two-page spread are split. Normal upright pages pass through unchanged, so a volume with a handful of spreads keeps every other page exactly as it was.
Which reading direction does it use?
Manga mode reads right to left, so the two halves of a split spread come out in the correct order for manga. Western comics read left to right. You can set the direction before converting.
