Kindle Panel View for manga and comics

Panel View is a reading mode built into Kindle comic files. Instead of squinting at a whole page shrunk onto a small screen, you tap to zoom into the first panel, then tap again to move to the next, and the page walks you through its panels one at a time at a readable size. It is the closest a small e-reader gets to reading a printed comic panel by panel.

How to add Kindle Panel View

  1. Drop your comic file

Drag in a CBZ, CBR, ZIP, RAR, 7Z, PDF or EPUB. Several files queue and convert in turn.

  2. Panel View is already on

The four-way panel zoom is preset. The output carries the guided regions so a tap steps you from one panel to the next on the device.

  3. Pick your Kindle

Choose your exact Kindle profile so the full-page view and each zoomed panel are sized to that screen.

  4. Convert and download

Preview the pages, convert, and download MOBI, EPUB or KEPUB. Send it to your Kindle and tap through the panels. Files auto-delete after 24 hours.

Best on the smallest screens

Panel View earns its keep on a phone-sized Kindle where a whole page is hard to read at once. On a large Scribe you may prefer plain full pages, which the same file still supports.

Pairs with spread splitting

A wide two-page spread can be split first, then each half carries its own panel regions. Combine this page with spread splitting for the most readable result on a small device.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is Panel View?

A guided zoom baked into the comic file. The reader shows the full page first, then a tap zooms into a panel-sized region, and each further tap advances to the next region in reading order. It lets a small screen show a dense page one readable piece at a time.

Which readers support it?

Panel View is a Kindle comic feature and works on Kindle e-readers and the Kindle app. On devices that do not use it, the file still reads normally as full pages, so nothing is lost by enabling it.

Does it work for manga read right to left?

Yes. In manga mode the panel order follows right-to-left reading, so the guided zoom walks the panels in the correct sequence.

Will it change how the full page looks?

No. The full-page view is unchanged. Panel View simply adds the guided zoom regions on top, so you can read the whole page or tap through its panels, whichever you prefer.

Is it free?

Yes. The free tier covers typical single volumes, and the conversion runs on our servers, so it is just as fast from a phone.

Panel View is produced by Kindle Comic Converter (KCC), the open-source engine comic readers have relied on for years, hosted for you so there is nothing to install.
