CBZ and EPUB, explained
A CBZ is a ZIP renamed: a plain archive of page images (JPEG, PNG, WebP) in reading order, with no layout, metadata or structure of its own. Comic readers open it, but a generic e-reader has nothing to work with, which is why converting to a real book format matters.
CBR to EPUBEPUB is the open e-book standard, understood by nearly every reader and app. A fixed-layout EPUB carries each comic page as a full screen image with proper page order, reading direction, cover and chapters, so your reader treats it like the book it is.

Comic pages are artwork, reflowing them destroys the layout. The EPUBs built here are fixed-layout: one page image per screen, exactly as drawn, with optional two-page landscape spreads.
Target device known?
If the EPUB is destined for one specific reader, pick its device preset instead of plain EPUB, pages get resized to the exact screen (e.g. 1236 × 1648 for a Paperwhite 5) and look sharper for it.
Frequently asked questions
Will the EPUB keep the page order and quality?
Yes. Pages keep their archive order, and images are processed, not just re-wrapped: resized to the target, gamma-corrected for e-ink, optionally upscaled. Nothing is cropped unless you enable border trimming.
What is the difference between CBZ and EPUB anyway?
CBZ is a bare zip of images with no metadata or layout; EPUB is a real book format with page structure, reading direction and library metadata. Readers and apps treat an EPUB properly, progress, covers, chapters.
Can I convert many CBZ files at once?
Yes, drop a whole batch and they queue up. Each file converts on its own, so one bad archive never blocks the rest.
Does it work with comics as well as manga?
Absolutely. Left-to-right Western comics are the default; manga mode switches to right-to-left when you need it. Webtoon mode handles vertical strips.
Is there a file size limit?
The free tier accepts typical single volumes comfortably. Very large omnibus files may exceed the page cap, split them first, or convert volume by volume.
